The main topics of the Folk Music Academy in Siglufjord will be the different types of Icelandic folk music, including ordinary folk songs, rímur songs, tvísöngur (two part organum) and folk dances. The course also includes lectures on folk music from other countries, given by artists visiting the Folk Music Festival in Siglufjord which will take place at the same time. Lectures will be given in English if required.
