The music I play is traditional irish dance music. I learned my music from Antoin Mac Gabhann in County Meath as that's where I grew up, however it is heavily influenced by the  music of County Donegal, as my parents are both from there and I spend a lot of my time there. The late great James Byrne was a cousin of my grandmothers, and I spent a great deal of time with him growing up, and although I never went to regular formal lessons with him, he was a huge influence on my music. I wouldn't like to say that my music is from Donegal or Meath, as it fits into neither box. In the last three years I have lived in and played a lot of music in Dublin, and I could also say that there have been several musicians that have influenced me there aswell. Some from Dublin, and the rest from all over the country. Dublin is quite the melting pot when it comes to traditional Irish music!
