The 11th Folk Music Festival in Siglufjordur will be held 7-11 og Julí 2010.

Many of the best musicians of Iceland will perform at the festival, be they folk, jazz, traditional, or classical musicians. A part from an eclectic concert program, guests can enjoy a variety of workshops and seminars, for children as well as grown ups.

In the summer of 2010 there will be offered an exciting workshop for our foreign guests. A guided tour of the pristine mountain valley of Siglufjordur where unique vegetation and birdlife will be explored. Our foreign guests will learn about the history and culture of Siglufjordur, and visit the Herring Era Musem and the Folk Music Center.

The Folk Music Academy will be held in conjunction with the Festival, as it has been for the past three years. This time the language of the Academy will be English and German, and possibly other languages as well if need be. Tuition for the Academy is 110 Euros which coveres all lectures, generally from 9 am - noon, as well as all 12 concerts of the Festival.
